05/09/2008 - Office Closed - Memorial Day Recognition
Our offices will be closed on Monday, May 26th, 2008 in observance of Memorial Day. The Sunday, May 25th, 2008 bidding deadline is extended until 11:59pm Monday, May 26th, 2008. All bids received on May 25th and 26th will be considered to have been received simultaneously and bid results will be published on Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 Happy Memorial Day!

04/03/2008 - INDIANA AND ILLINOIS INDUSTRY TRAINING SEMINARS
The Chicago Regional Office will hold training seminars on Monday April 28th 2008 in Downers Grove, IL and on Thursday May 8th 2008 in Indianapolis, IN. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Walk-ins are not accepted. Register online for this seminar.

03/19/2008 - Foreclosure Prevention EXPO in Charlotte
HUD is sponsoring a Homeownership Opportunities and Foreclosure Prevention EXPO in Charlotte on March 29th. This event is FREE and open to the public. Federal, State, Local Housing Experts and Lenders will be there to assist you. Topics discussed will include: Foreclosure Prevention, Refinancing Options, Home Repairs Funding, Homeownership Opportunities.

New Listing Broker Opportunity It is our intention to find additional qualified Brokers who are interested in becoming vendor partners as a Listing Broker (LB) with us to list HUD owned properties, Managed and Marketed by HMB, Inc. The responsibility, of HMB, Inc., includes managing and marketing HUD homes in the following two state regions: North Carolina, South Carolina. 03/11/2008 - Good Neighbor Next Door (GNND) Training
HMBI will be holding a seminar to reacquaint local brokers in the Greensboro area with the GNND program as the revitalization areas have changed and exciting new opportunities are available.
HUD offers a fifty percent (50%) discount off the list price to firefighters, EMTs, police officers and teachers through this program.
The seminar will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at the HUD office in Greensboro. The session is at 10amET.

02/25/2008 - Sales Incentives on HUD listings (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington State)
Effective 2/25/08, the Santa Ana Homeownership Center approved the use of the following Owner Occupant Sales Incentives on HUD listings in (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington). • $100 Down Payment Financing is available on most properties through participating FHA Approved Lenders. • The selling broker will receive an extra $500 for securing and closing a full price owner occupant sale regardless of Financing type. • An additional $1,000 sales allowance will be credited at closing to the owner occupant purchaser for full price offers regardless of financing type. 02/12/2008 - $500 Broker Bonus Available for All Owner Occupant Sales
The Atlanta Homeownership Center has approved the use of the $500 Broker Bonus for sales to ALL Owner Occupant purchasers. This incentive applies for the sale of HUD homes in (Illinois, Indiana, North, and South Carolina)

12/28/2007 - Ending of the discount sales program to non-tenant hurricane evacuees
Please be advised that the discount sales program to non-tenant hurricane evacuees will end on December 31, 2007. This means that the final lottery drawing must occur, and the offer must be tentatively accepted, no later than December 31, 2007 for a purchaser to be eligible for this discount.
Please also note that this change has been posted on the HUD’s web site and can be viewed at " http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/faqs/katsales.cfm.

10/11/2007 - Revitalization Areas for Mecklenburg and Union Counties NC
Effective October 12, 2007 – Revitalization areas have been approved for parts of Mecklenburg and Union Counties in North Carolina. As a result the Good Neighbor Next Door Program will be offered in those areas. A Broker Learning Seminars will be held in the very near future. 10/04/2007 - $100 Down Payment for Owner Occupants (Atlanta HOC Only)
Buy A HUD Home with FHA Financing - HUD is currently offering a $100 Down payment initiative. The $100 down payment is for owner occupants purchasing a HUD Home with FHA financing. This incentive is also available to owner occupant purchasers who obtain a FHA Home Repair loan. It’s a great time to Purchase a HUD Home with FHA financing.

08/30/2007 - Buy HUD with FHA
The Atlanta Homeownership Center has approved the use of the following Sales Initiatives on HUD listings in (Illinois, Indiana, North, and South Carolina) beginning August 31, 2007:

08/27/2007 - Important News: HUD No longer requires an engineering certificate on HUD sales to obtain FHA Financing in Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Starting immediately an engineering certification is not required on HUD homes that are in the active inventory and offered for sale. Owner occupant purchasers may now use FHA financing on any manufactured homes that meet the other eligibility requirements as 203B, 203K and 203K streamlined financing products from HUD. In order to facilitate the change all manufactured homes will be placed on a bid period starting 8/24/07 to allow owner occupant purchasers the opportunity to purchase these homes.

02/01/2007 - Your HUD Home Can Be Your Dream Home
If you are thinking about buying a REO property that needs repair, FHAâ€™s 203(K) rehabilitation loan or itâ€™s simplified alternative, the Streamlined(k) may be a good option for you. FHAâ€™s simplified Streamlined(k) program for small-scale repairs is the perfect option for most HUD REO sales. For the major repairs & more complicated renovation plans, the Standard 203(K) program is the option.
